This is certainly one of the best bred eventers in Australia. She represents generations of eventer/ jumper breeding here at Sandhills. Her dam Sandhills Glint, is a full sister to Sandhills Brillaire, winner of Adelaide 5*, and also Sandhills Glamour, dam of James Mooney’s lovely grey mare KPH Cavatina, along with some other successful jumpers and eventers. This line carries the thoroughbred bloodlines of Galverston – Sir Ivor; Beuna Shore and Nijinky’s Way on the dam line and then King of Babylon and Pacific Prince on the sire line of Staccato (Salute). Here at Sandhills we believe strongly in the solid thoroughbred lines of old which produce good wind and soundness in the eventers. They also have a toughness and never give up attitude so, with the introduction of bloodlines of Christian, we believe this gives them the edge for competing internationally against the modern event horse which oozes scope, athletism and movement. Christian is the sire of Jess Brown’s Coachella who is jumping beautifully as a 7yo at 1.45m.
Schein is that rare diamond, that is not so tall so, has the quick thinking of a smaller horse but has the scope of the bigger horse. She is elastic in her jump, super careful and ever watchful.
